審査講評（二次審査員）60Amid the ongoing turmoil caused by Covid-19, I was both surprised and thrilled that so many works were submitted to the contest.Judging covered many unique and colorful pieces made with various techniques, imaginative materials and effective white-space usage, which require calmness and placidity on the artist’s part. Regardless of whether this calmness supports the art, or, conversely, the art supports the calmness, all the works seemed to shout, “Here I am!” with cheer and a particular lust for life. I’m very grateful and appreciative to all those who submitted works to the contest.Works Conveying Cheer and a Lust for Life 長引くコロナ禍で、緊張の日々が世界中で続いています。そんな中でこんなにも多くの方が参加してくれたことに驚き、そしてうれしくなりました。 今年も、最終審査には、のびのびとした色彩と工夫を凝らしたマチエール、余白を生かした構図などが特徴の個性的な作品が並びました。一枚の絵の完成には、実は心が穏やかであることが欠かせません。心が落ち着いているから描けるのか、描くことで穏やかになるのかは人それぞれでしょうが、どの作品からも「私はここにいるよ」という、晴れやかな生命への賛歌が伝ってくるようでした。一枚一枚に心から「ありがとう」を言いたいと思います。晴れやかな生命への賛歌が伝わってくるような作品結ゆう城き 昌まさ子こ美術の絵本作家YUKI MasakoAuthor of Art Picture Books
